Locker room chemistry, new deal ideas – there’s always a lot to talk about!

As the year comes to an end we will see a lot of numbers summarizing the first 6 months of NIL. At Spry we’re proud to see that NIL compliance remains a top concern for many Institutions. At the end of the day, keeping student-athletes on the field and empowering them to accept NIL deals is everyone’s benchmark for NIL success.

NEW NIL OPPORTUNITIES

How UT is using NIL to help student-athletes

When NIL passed, we weren’t quite sure how it would affect different schools. A byproduct of the rule change now allows schools to provide ‘educational benefits’ to student-athletes. For example at the University of Texas, athletes are eligible to get education-related benefits, including money for tutors and school-related equipment (up to a maximum value of $5,980). We are starting to see how Institutions plan to “pay” their student-athletes.

Lyle Adams

Spry’s Founder and CEO & NCAA Men’s Soccer Champion

Lyle was a member of the 2007 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship team at Wake Forest. After embarking on a professional soccer career, Lyle transitioned to the tech industry, where he was one of the first 100 employees at Uber, designing platforms and tools for data consumers. Lyle also holds a Master’s in Sports Management from Columbia University.
