Compliance Calendar
A compliance calendar is the schedule of recurring obligations an athletics department has to meet through the year, eligibility certifications, squad list deadlines, rules education, financial aid reporting, recruiting calendar transitions, and now revenue-sharing and NIL reporting cycles.
Q. What goes on it?
Initial and continuing eligibility certifications, squad lists before first competition, annual rules education, outside income reporting for staff, APR data submission, recruiting period changes by sport, and cap and NIL disclosure reporting.
Q. Why does it matter?
Because most compliance failures are missed deadlines rather than deliberate violations. A documented calendar is also evidence of adequate monitoring if a school is ever asked to demonstrate it.
Q. What’s new since 2025?
Revenue-sharing cap reporting, NIL Go disclosure tracking, and roster limit certification, none of which existed before July 2025, and all of which run on their own cycles.
Q. How do departments manage it?
Increasingly through software rather than shared spreadsheets, because obligations now span compliance, business office and coaching staff simultaneously and depend on people outside compliance completing tasks on time.
