Alec Golini

Position on the Team: Customer Success Manager

Hometown: Lumberton, NJ

Joined the Team: September 2022

Tell us a little bit about your background and what you did prior to joining Spry:

Prior to joining Spry, I spent the previous 8 years in public education and athletics as an educator and coach. Additionally, I have served as the founder and president of a nonprofit organization, Athletes C.A.R.E., for the last 10 years.

In your own words, what do you do at Spry:

Simply put – build relationships and support our clients. I partner with leaders at athletic departments and sport organizations across the country to help maximize the administrator, coach, and student-athlete experience with Spry.

What has been your favorite moment while being a Spry team member?

Seeing the value that the SpryConnect platform brings to our clients and the ways in which it optimizes their processes. Spry is changing the game in college athletics and it has been really cool to see that impact.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Activity, family & friend time, watch sports, coach youth soccer, and read! I enjoy working out, spending time with family and friends (and dog – our mini-Goldendoodle, Max), watching sports (Philly sports, Manchester United, and USA Field Hockey), coaching club soccer, or reading a good book.

What is your favorite college sport to watch?

Men’s & Women’s Soccer or College Football

Did you play a sport in college? If so, tell us about your experience as a student athlete:

I was a Division I Men’s Soccer player at Lafayette College (Easton, PA). I was fortunate to have a fantastic four-year career competing alongside incredible teammates and winning a Patriot League Championship while earning my degree. At Lafayette, I was blessed to gain lifelong friendships and bonds as a result of my experience as a student-athlete on College Hill. Go Pards!

What is your favorite feature that Spry offers to Athletic Departments?

As a former student-athlete, SpryConnect’s calendar feature is my favorite. Student-athletes are tasked with balancing busy academic and athletic schedules and Spry’s calendar feature makes scheduling and sharing seamless. Student-athletes are able to easily view their daily and monthly calendar, while coaches are able to quickly share events with student-athletes and compliance administrators.

What is your biggest hope that NIL unlocks for student athletes?

For me, NIL provides a pathway for financial empowerment, allowing student-athletes to learn about financial literacy while seeking opportunities that their talents and hard work afford them.

If you could give one piece of advice to student athletes, what would it be?

Make connections and build relationships. During your time on campus, you will have the opportunity to forge relationships with teammates, coaches, staff, faculty, alumni and more. View this time as a chance to seek mentorship and invest in your personal and professional growth.
